Welcome to INCLUSION4ABILITY! We are so excited to share this journey with you. The goal of this initiative is to grow awareness of accessibility and inclusion in the Kingston community. The first step is to start meeting with children, youth and their parents and teachers to bring awareness to where we are right now as a community. Then together we come up with ways that we can create more inclusive and accessible environments for everyone.

It is the hope that by educating the younger generation about the importance of acceptance and inclusion of everyone, they will together build a community that they believe in. Giving kids more understanding of their peers is a good start and can help them see past the disability and see the ability.

As part of the initiative, it is a goal to update the accessible icons that are currently used in public and private spaces, through collaboration with businesses and schools. It is a small action that can speak volumes, and that is what we strive to do -- to speak through leadership and action.
